Description: It was long known under the name Cryptocoryne nevillii, but in 1976, Niels Jacobsen found out that it really belongs to the hybrid complex of Cryptocoryne x willisii. Cryptocoryne x willisii is probably a hybrid of Cryptocoryne parva with Cryptocoryne walkeri or Cryptocoryne beckettii (This plant is a natural hybrid, so the name is spelt with a cross: C. x willisii). The real Cryptocoryne nevillii has never been used in aquaria. The leaves are bright green on both upper and lower surfaces, and are narrowly elliptical to lanceolate in shape and 1,5-12 cm long and 0,6-2,5 cm wide. Although slow to estabilish, it eventually forms nice rounded clumps. An easy species that needs bright light and clean water, but is otherwise undemanding. Use a finer grade of gravel than usual and leave it undisturbed as much as possible. Once settled, the plant will propagate by producing numerous runners, forming a compact group that can look very effective. When keeped emersed it can be 25 cm tall, and when keeped submersed it grows shorter, and can be only 5-15 cm. Propagation can be done by the short runners. Once separated, float the daughter plants in the tank for a few weeks, and plant them after they developed some roots.
